Clean Bandit- Mozart’s House

‘So you think electronic music is boring…you think it’s repetitive…well…it is repetitive’

He’s not lying, it can be. So how do you combat the mundanity of middle of the road electro? Well, in Clean Bandit’s case, you use a string quartet. Every one of their songs is kind of based on a classical reference or two, neatly interspersed in the electronic texture. It’s not just samples either, they actually perform with them live as an integral part of the group. It sounds like another annoying gimmick, but I can’t deny that it works well. It’s a pretty impressive video as well considering that they just put it together themselves- for naked cello girl at 1.46 if nothing else.
