Today I was browsing youtube for videos of Beirut, when I came across a series of videos called “The Take-Away Shows”. It’s one of the best discoveries I’ve ever made, and I knew I had to share it on here—in case you all haven’t discovered it yet!
The “Take-Away Shows” began in 2006. They’re video podcasts of musicians/bands such as The Shins, Andrew Bird, and Tallest Man on Earth playing a live acoustic set out-and-about, in various locations.
This is Tallest Man on Earth’s “Take-Away Show”, but there are around 120 podcasts to be seen on the website. The goal of the project is “to try and capture instants, film the music just like it happens, without preparation, without tricks.”
There is some really beautiful music that has been captured by these podcasts, and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
